Faery Merry Christmas

I'm definitely not an expert on classic cars, but one thing I like about cars built in the 1950s--you can tell the models apart. You just can't mistake a Nash for a Chevy, or a Studebaker for a Dodge. America definitely had a love affair with cars that lasted decades, and it really shows in 1956.

The hero of Faery Merry Christmas, Liam of the Red Clan, had a 1956 pink Nash Metropolitan. This would have been a custom paint job because they didn't come in pink, either that year or any year. But pink was the popular color. Remember Elvis's pink Cadillac?

There's a scene where the gears get stuck and Liam has to crawl under the car to fix it. My husband told me about that little problem, and I thought it was too good not to include.

1956 Nash Metropolitan

The hero's buddy, Mike Bierman, had a 1954 yellow Chevrolet Bel Air convertible. I chose this car because my hair dresser, Martin DeGrazia, has one that he's fixed up over the years, and it's absolutely beautiful. Take a look:
